I am attempting to connect as a Daughter of the American Revolution. William Jett seems to be that link. Anyone else related to him?

I'm related to the Jetts of Virginia, including some Williams, and have a fair bit of info about some lines of that family.  Do you have a specific WikiTree profile you could link to?  I'd be happy to take a look.

Hello! I was traveling in Florida and didn't have time to respond sooner.  I am now home in California. I am looking new to this website and have not created a Tree or account. "My" William Jett was apparently married to "Sarah," born 1760 in Wales. Their son was John Jett Senior, born 1781 in Faquier County, died 2 march 1864. My William Jett has a general note: that he was a Revolutionary War soldier - source: The History of Doddridge County West Virgnia, Taylor Publishing 1979, pa. 362.  I am trying to establish the truth of this. How could there have been so many William Jetts?

Found two things of possibly interest so far.  First, there's a profile at Wikitree that *might* be your guy: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jett-307.  No sources, so there would definitely have to be some work done to see if it's the right person.  Second, there are two William Jetts listed with the DAR currently.  Here's a link to one of them, who seems to have ties to Fauquier County.  Again, no guarantee it's the right person.

I have a Jett genealogy book that could have some helpful information, but there are so many Williams and Johns that we would need to narrow it down some.  Do you have full names of spouses for either William or John, or names of other children?  Do you have a tree posted elsewhere to use as a starting point?  Best thing to do if you want to work with WikiTree is to start with yourself and work backwards, documenting and sourcing things all the way so you're confident of each link.  If you hit roadblocks, there are plenty of people here who can help out.

Hi Rebecca, I have two William Jett's in my family tree, both from Virginia. Jett-376 and Jett-633. They did not die in 1817, but they might be related somehow. Good luck with your search! Kristine

Yes, need more information. I do not have "my" William Jett's lineage going back.  Only what I have commented above: Hello!
