I'm working on a few puzzles in my family tree. I enjoy puzzles, and so this is satisfying. Right now, I am working backward to find as many ancestors as I can who were the original migrants to America for their line. I am finding most of them are pre-Colonial, coming from what is now the UK, settling first in Virginia, then their ancestors migrating to the Deep South - North/South Carolina, northern and western Georgia, and eastern Alabama - all around 1800. My biggest challenge right now is my grandmother's line - the Lokeys. There are plenty of Lokeys in Muscogee County, Georgia but my line seems to dead end at Early Lokey (b. 1817), his sister Rachel Dorrough, and their mother Sarah (no maiden name, born~1800). None of the male Lokeys in the area seem to be Rachel and Early's father.
I look forward to finding out what I can, and contributing where I can.
