I have a brick wall that I need help busting.

My great grandfather, William/Willis/Wylie Suggs has been a source of my brick wall for decades. I have had trouble finding anything about him before 1900. He was then in Shelby County Alabama, where my grandfather was born. Before 1900, I have very little proof that he exists. I believe I have found references to him in Georgia, via several newspaper articles. I believe he was born in 28 Oct. 1858 • North Carolina. He died on 15 July 1911 • Morgan Co., Ala. Accoring to family lore he married my Great Grandmother in 1896 in Georgia. I am begining to think I will never solve this mystery.

Post as much as you can with sourcing on your grandfather's profile and you'll probably get some help.

I'm sorry, I thought I had added all that info. I have added some today and will be adding more in the coming days.

Hi Barry!

I think Edward was hoping you would put some more of that info on William's profile here at WikiTree, since not everyone has an Ancestry subscription.

I think this is William, right?

If you link your question to William's profile using the field at the bottom of your question (you can still edit your question to add it) then the discussion that ensues here will be available to anyone who looks at the profile, and, even more significantly, WikiTree members will be much more inclined to help since they can see exactly what has been done already.

Don't count on them having an Ancestry subscription, though.

Cheers

PS -- It's not that long ago - is your DNA test turning up any clues?  Also, is this your direct paternal line?  You might want to try Family Tree DNA's 111 marker YDNA test or their Big-Y
