Twp profiles whose spouses and children are jumbled together

The spouses and children of Hill-2614 and Hill-23965 are jumbled up.  Need help from Profile Improvement Project or Arborists to straighten it out.  Probably someone who has access to NEHGS and/or DAR since they are in Massachusetts in 1700s.

I added a couple tags so it gets more attention. smiley

For future reference, most of the members of the Massachusetts Project have an interest in 1600s and 1700s Massachusetts, and many of us are members of NEHGS. By adding the massachusetts tag, Missy was asking for the attention of the 250 members who follow that tag.

I spent a little time researching Moses Hill and his family, and editing various profiles. My perusal of Massachusetts records led me to conclude that "Moses" was a popular name with families named Hill in 1700s Massachusetts, making confusion very likely. The profiles for many of these people seem to be based on the authority of Family Trees Found on Ancestry, which often are effective at spreading confusion.

I did not finish the task of deconflating this man's family, but I made major progress.  In particular:

  1. All of this man's connected children are now confirmed as his.
  2. I disconnected Mary (Hill) Mansfield as his daughter and connected a profile for Mary (Hill) Young, who looks like a perfect match for the Molly Young who was named in his will.
  3. I removed Lucy (Adams) Hill as mother of the children of this Moses Hill. She and her husband Moses Hill had children in the town of Gardner, Worcester County, Massachusetts, whereas this man and his wife Luce had their children in the town of Athol, Worcester County.

Some of the steps remaining to be done:

  1. I have not added sources and sourced data to the unsourced profiles of several of the  children of Moses and Luce.
  2. I have not connected Lucy Adams to all of her children.
  3. I have not figured out who Mary (Hill) Mansfield was.
  4. I don't know who Luce, the wife of this Moses was. No one seems to have found a marriage record for this couple. If she is not identified, she should be given a profile as Luce (Unknown) Hill.

I have begun trying to sort out the John Hills, hoping to be able to sort out Moses's father - the date on his profile seems to be a mistake of some sort.  I've established a Research Note on his profile where I've stashed all the information I've gathered on possible candidates for his actual birth date.  I'm now going to try to look for probate records.
