Research at Warren County, Georgia Courthouse

If your planning a trip to do research at the Warren County, Georgia courthouse, you should be aware that the probate judges office does not allow photocopying of the records due to their fragile nature.  Their records begin in 1797.  They will allow you to photograph records with a camera or cell phone.  They also allow the use of  a hand held scanner with your computer.  They have adequate table space and outlets for your computer.  The staff is very friendly and will show you where the records are located but they will not assist you with your research.  If your researching marriage records in Georgia the state has scanned all marriage records and they are available on line free of charge in the Georgia Archives Virtual Vault .

This would be a great Project for Wikitree to gather all such comments about research locations.
