Lewis was born in 1871. He was the son of James Crane and Cyrena Sykes. He passed away after 1940.

Ah yes I see it. “Utica, New York Lewis Crane, Division Passenger Agent”
I think it's a mistake. While I know that New York permitted young marriages later than a lot of states. the 1930 Census lists her as single.
P.S. Ancestry.com has a marriage record for Isabella S. Crane marrying Gregory H. Gaylord on June 27, 1931, in Utica.
