Any Info Re: Gilbert Wilson, b. 1620 Scotland?

Question

Gilbert Wilson was born. ca. 1620 New Cumnock, Nithdale, Ayr, Scotland.  He is shown as marrying twice: Isabelle Ramsey, Ramsey-726, and, in Virginia in 1668, an unknown woman. He supposedly died after

1671 in New Cumnock, Scotland.

 

Did Gilbert have two wives? If so, who were they?  When and where did Gilbert die? (Did he really go back to Scotland after marrying in Virginia?

This info from the "Scotland, Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950" database, shows that a Gilbert Wilson and an Isobel Ramsey had son William in 1690 in Glasgow.  Gilbert, the subject of this profile would have been about 70 years.  Then a Gilbert married (another?) Isobel in 1703?

According to this WikiTree profile, Gilbert had 5 children, born between 1650 and 1688. Something doesn't compute. When this GEDCOM was uploaded. there were what appeared to be duplicate people, but with some different/wrong details. I think this may have led to some bad merges.

This entire family needs to be reexamined.

A good step in the right direction is the doubt that was expressed about things not seeming to add up correctly. It's quite a puzzle. I think Charlie Chaplin fathered a child at the age of 73, but that's unusual.
