Do you want to become an England Project member in 2022? [closed]

The England Project is an exciting place to be at the moment! We have a few hundred active members improving and creating English Profiles. We have a strong sense of community, and a team structure where members work in their areas of interest. Amongst our activities we connect, source, and improve bios within our County Teams, we correct data errors, improve old Gedcom profiles, and encourage One-name and One-place studies.

Does this sound like something you would like to be part of?

Your England Project membership will begin with our unique Orphan Trail team (OT) which should take less than a month to complete. The OT helps you learn about building and formatting English profiles using English sources right back to 1700. It will empower you to research your own English ancestors!

We do ask that you make the OT a priority in your Wikitreeing activity to be able to complete it in a timely manner. If you know you won't be able to give it your full attention now, please apply to join the England Project at a more suitable time for you.

During the OT, we get to learn more about you and what your interests are. Once you have finished the OT you will join one of our other teams and make connections with members who share your own interests.

PLEASE NOTE: if you are just looking for help with specific ancestors in England, and don't wish to take the Orphan Trail and become active in the England Project, then post a message in G2G tagged ENGLAND and one of our helpful England Project team members will try to assist you :)

Edward I (Longshanks) Plantagenet is my 26th great grandfather, however, I'm still "new" to genealogy and don't know how to do a chart. Id like to join the "England Project" & get a sticker, kindly? Is there a "Plantagenet Project" that I can join as well & get that project's sticker? Sincerely, Noble Sir Knight

Yes please, I would like to join the England Group. I would particularly be interested in Essex and possibly Suffolk.

I have managed so far to verifiably research my Ancestors in Essex to Thomas Jiggins, born and Baptised in Rayne, Essex in 1761, but I can't seem to go back any further.

I have made contact with a couple of people also building (growing?) detailed Jiggins family trees, but although their trees are populated with Jiggins' that lived (and some that still live) within a few miles of my Ancestors), I have yet to verifiably link them to my own Tree. I have hit a brick wall for some years now and would really welcome some advice and help please. I think that joining the England Group may be the way forward.

I think that I have already qualified to join both the 'Dutch' and 'pre-1700' Groups (My family oral history tells that we were Protestants and fled from Holland in 1621 to come to Essex, England to escape religious persecution, but I have yet to find that link either).

Greetings all, I'm interested in becoming associated with the project in one fashion or another. My long to-do list with my family precludes me from spending a month or so on an orphan trail. I'm pre-1700 certified and have been working in that era, and am slowly moving earlier, to some late 1600s profiles. some of whom are notables (ie, MPs). I've adopted any orphans along the way, but my focus is on my lines and their associated families.

I believe that when dealing with such old and delicate stuff, it's good to have oversight and a second set of eyes, hence my reaching out to the project.

Is there a set of county-based sub-projects? I'm working mainly in Shropshire right now. A sample of a profile that I've been polishing lately is [[Forester-342|George Forester]] and his son [[Callant-7|William Callant]].

Thoughts? Comments? Contacts?
