Project Protected image not always showing on PPP profiles

Not being the profile manager one does not see the "Project Protected" image on PPP profiles with privacy not Open or Public.

This is relevant in the context of determining whether the profiled person is a "Living Notable":
Living Notables are a subset of Project-Protected Profiles

The only way a non-PM can now see if the profile is PPP is by running a WikiTree+ search with magic word PPP, like this one for Anita (van Eijk) van Oranje-Nassau

Would be much easier if the Project Protected image is shown unconditionally.

Hi Jan,

Can you explain more why this would be helpful? Can't you assume the profile is a Living Notable if it's managed by a project?

I recently had a case where it was doubtful if the "living notable" criteria were applicable: the PPP image was not on the profile and the person is under 18. Room for doubt in my opinion. In particular in the context of GDPR. You can simply not expect everybody to know the WikiTree book of law.

And in general I think it is not a sound attitude to assume errors are not made. I make them, anybody makes them. If that was not true we wouldn't need the Data Doctors project.

I see no logical reason to not unconditionally show The PPP image, regardless of privacy setting.
I agree with Jan because I know what profile she is talking about.  Ales said the profile was PPP, profile had a Notables PM, but he also said it did NOT have the Project Box.  It is not 'obvious' if the profile has nothing visible to identify it as notable, other than the PM.
If a profile is PPP and doesn't have the Project Box there is already one of the 920 suggestion reported. For that case it is https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Data_Doctors_Report_2021-11-28#DBE_922

For Obama it is on https://www.softdata.si/wt/Err_20211128/922_2000-9999_0.htm But that suggestion was corrected.

Project protection is important only in case you want to edit the profile and if you don't have the edit rights (Private profiles) it doesn't really mather.

Project protection is also relevant when adding relations. If on this profile the PPP image was shown people would probably follow this procedure when they would like to  add a spouse or child. Not seeing the PPP they presumably end up trying to add and see it failing, probably with the message they cannot do so because the profile is PPP...

IMHO it is just a matter of showing as much non privacy sensitive data as possible. Showing the PPP image unconditionally can be useful in some contexts, and never hurts.
