Hello Maurice.

Mary and Alfonzo divorced before 1910.
I found Mary (listed "Single") and her son T. W. in the 1910 Census. They went by Mary's maiden name (Ivey). They are listed in lines 68 and 69 in the following Census sheet:

Mary is listed as a widow in the 1920 and 1930 Censuses (her son T. W. is living with her), but on 1940 (after T. W. got married), Mary is listed "Divorced" (line 18, just above her sister Callie):

A good reason for that: Maybe Mary told her son that his father had died.

Taking into account all of the above mentioned, there is a great chance that  Alfonzo A Allen in the other answers is T. W.'s father.

I agree with Ruben.  Not everyone told the truth to the  census-taker.  A divorced woman with a child in 1910 would be quite scorned but a widowed woman would be accepted.  Don't believe everything that you read in records - errors have been made in many instances.
Wow. Thanks. I’ll peruse it a bit later.
Thank you to you also.

You are welcome, Maurice.

I think, but I'm not positive, that this is the Allen that married Mary Ivy.  I see they divorced and he moved to Texas.  I would say that they named their son Thomas William after Mary's father Thomas William.

Good luck in your searching!
Thanks, but she's listed on the 1920 Census as a widow and she kept the last name Allen, it's on her tombstone in Fulton County with Thomas William. Also, on the marriage certificate, it is carefully spelled Alfranzo A Allen.
