Another brick wall

I can't quote profiles, because I can find none with dates that match, but John Gyse (Guise) of Elmore and Brockworth, who died 24 Jan 1587, his will probate 12 Nov 1588, married Jane Paunceforte of Hasfield on 22 Jan 1564. She was buried 27 Jun 1587. They had 9 children, including Elinor, bapt 12 Aug 1570, married at Kenn, Somerset, on 7 Feb 1592 to Christopher Perry. He was buried there on 29 Apr 1619, His will dated 21 Apr 1619, Probate 16 Jun 1619.

The big question is - Who was Christopher's parents ?

Can anyone help, Please.

Don't know if it will help, but Jane's surname is variously spelled - I've seen it as "Pauncefoot" and Pouncefoot". A search of variations might yield some clues.
My understanding is that it is Paunceforte. a direct translation from the French would be 'Fat Belly'. Perhaps meaning they could afford to eat well.

However, it is the parents of Christopher Perry, Elinor's spouse, that I am after. I was sure that someone with all those books by clever historians would have all the answers, perhaps not, but I cannot believe he generated spontaneously out of thin air.
I got the bapt date for Elinor, the marriage date for her and Christopher, and their burial date from the Parish Registers of Kenn, Somerset. The condition of these records is understandably very poor, but yet still readable. The genealogy of the Guise, or Gyse, family is well documented, but there is much less for Christopher's family. I did find a possible sibling of Christopher's, one William Perry, who wed Joane Patche on 20 February 1591, in the same Parish Register, but no parents listed.

It's not an answer, but the Records of Buckinghamshire, Or, Papers and Notes on the History, Antiquities, and Architecture of the County, Together With Proceedings of the Architectural and Archaeological Society for the Couty of Buckingham, vol. 8, p. 364 has a pedigree whose earliest member is Christopher Perry of Kenn.

Not a solution.  Just more fodder.

Thanks Roger, I clicked on the link you gave, but it provided no information, just Google, trying to flog a book.

I have written to a person who has made a study of the history of Kenn, Somerset, so I'm hoping they might be able to help, but so far there is no response.
