ERROR corrections

Question

I recently went trough the profile of Aubin Lambert-3324 and noticed it had some 47 ERRORS messages, Trying to find where these errors originate in the texts amongst a heavy, hard and tightly packed text is just plain hell, to the point that I became confused, After several hours, I saved the changes to realize that my corrections had affected several  other links who now did not work properly. I then returned the text to the old one., scrapping all the changes that I had applied. Now, all the ERROR messages at the bottom of the text section, have faded away and I know that they have not been corrected.

Could there be a way to easily connect one ERROR signal to its origin in the text? There are several other profiles with the same heavy correction need. I am now very hesitant to uptake this important task.

will go through it again, CL's edits make for code-bloat a lot, will work on cleaning some up and updating links where I can.

I can't understand that page because I don't speak the language, but I think I got the problems corrected.  The error at the 16th citation was caused by a missing ending 'ref' which I inserted.  #10, 12, and 13 were undefined, so I found their definitions in the Changes Log and added them in where they were first used.

I restored some citation names that possibly you removed because of the other Suggestions on the page, but when  citation definition is removed that is used elsewhere in the profile, it will cause other Suggestions because the citation is not defined.

Many of the Suggestions on the profile had timeout issues.  If you can access those sites, then the suggestion should be marked as False.  Sometimes the url should be reviewed in the Wayback machine to see if they can be found.

For URL errors, copy the URL from the suggestion. Then open the edit screen, click on the 3 vertical dots at the top right of the browser and use the find in page function to search for the URL. You can then find every occurrence in a lengthy bio.

Thanks also to Linda; I am aware of the impact with the citations - the problem is to find them in a large text bunched tight.

I use the Find function for many other errors too.  On the suggestions report, the error that is being flagged is usually shown (at least in part) in the Info column and so that snippet can be used to Find.

HI, Gaston.  On your home page, go to your name at the top and use the dropdown, the Suggestions report is the very bottom one.  When the report comes up, the columns from left to right are:

Suggestion (has error number and link to help page)

Link (to the profile)

Info (which has the specifics of the error) this is what you want to Find on the profile.

BTW at the top of that page you can choose to look only at suggestions for profiles you manage, or for all the ones you are related to (the option is shown in red).

ok, please leave it alone for a while, the DBE program only updates periodically, right now none are showing on the profile.  Will get back to it and fix him up.  There is repetitions of sources in some instances that are unnecessary.

as a note, there have been several changes to web sites for the Association des Familles Lambert, have already located some of them from other Lambert profiles.
