Is a `Minor League Baseball Teams` subcategory disallowed?

Not being familiar with category creation, I attempted to step through what creating a subcategory for "Minor League Baseball Teams" would look like for the [[Space:Sioux_City_Soos|Sioux City Soos]] project I'm working on.  Upon clicking the red link for the new proposed category, I discovered a message

"Warning: You are recreating a page that was previously deleted.,

You should consider whether it is appropriate to continue editing this page. The deletion log for this page is provided here for convenience:

Does this imply that the creation of such a subcategory is not allowed?

You have been doing a great job documenting that team, Ben! The category now contains more profiles than any of the Major League Baseball Teams categories. cool  It does not need to be a personal category -- it is fully qualified to be a real category.

I added the category to Category: Sioux City, Iowa because this team clearly is part of Sioux City history, regardless of its position within Category: Baseball.  And I took the liberty of submitting a "Rename Category" request for the personal category, to change it into a regular category. I expect  that the Categorization Project will review the situation and ask EditBot to finish the process of converting it into a regular category.

I cannot explain why Category: Minor League Baseball Teams was deleted, but I can guess that it was created as a completely empty category and was deleted for lack of content. It is also possible that there was some discussion of whether "Minor League Baseball Teams" was the appropriate name for the category. There is one other minor league team with a small category listed at the top level of Category:Baseball, so the Sioux City Soos would have company in "Minor League Baseball Teams."

You can create a personal category.

Edit: There may be changes coming.  They seem to be considered temporary now.

Ben,

Minor league teams are certainly an appropriate category.

Seems like some work category work needs needs to be done -

here is another team with a category Category: Oakland Oaks (PCL)

We probably got rid of the category because it had very little content and attached categories and wasn't necessary or even misnamed, and most of the teams had living players (which, for a time, meant the profiles were not viewable.) There is no "Sports Project" so there is no agreed upon naming scheme, etc., and it gets to be a free-for-all in categories.
