I am Bob Waldrep. In tracing my Waldrep/Waldrop roots I have come across my gggrandparents, Elisha Rush Jordan and Sarah Hazelwood.. Both are from Va., and were married there in the Quaker Church. Have looked through about 60 other trees that include Elisha, but no one has discovered his father and mother. The birth and death dates for Elisha(1823-1885) are taken from a Hazelwood bible. Their daughter, Rachel, married my ggrandfather, Columbus Waldrep. Any help with Elisha's parentage would be appreiciated.

If you check the Campbell Co, VA marriages for Jordan, you'll se a German Jordan married a Rachel Reid in 1810, a George Jordan married a Susanna Stern in 1816 and a William married an Elizabeth Farriss in 1819.  If you know the  the County where Elisha was born, any of the above could be his parents.  Quakers kept excellent records, so I would try to find Elisha birth among them.

Often middle names were taken from family surnames. Maybe Elisha’s mother’s maiden name was Rush.
