Calling all Richard HARVEY descendants

I am a descendant of Richard Harvey-113 of Albemarle, VA and later Bryan Co, GA.  Can anyone tell me what proof was used to distinguish the two Richard Harveys from Albemarle?  Harvey-113 is a DAR Ancestor but they give no mention at all of the VA service in the 11th, 15th or the 7th.  Clearly, a Richard Harvey did serve in those units, but what proof was used to eliminate that service belonging to the "other" Richard?  I ask because the Valley Forge Society (which I would like to join) seems to think it's the other Richard.  Either that, or DAR has the wrong service listed...or incomplete at best. Search on valleyforgemusterroll.org and you will find Richard Harvey, b 1759 with spouse, Elizabeth Morel. He came in the VA 11th in December 1777 (also known as Morgan's Rifles) and left in 1778 as VA 7th (Lafayette's Division). Source: 18C, Harvey Ancestors, Baker County Historical Society.

WOO-HOO and Hallelujah!!  I believe that ALL credit should probably go to Helen Rice, another descendant of Richard of GA.

A bit of history here.....I was contacted by the VF Society of descendants back in 2021 and asked if I would like to join.  That opened up a bag of worms because the person involved had also been a past Registrar General for DAR and said she "wasn't sure" Richard qualified and that the only service the GA Richard (vs the brother of John) could prove was local Albemarle militia.

Soooooo my question then was, what did all these "other" Harvey descendants on WikiTree use to prove he's one of the Richard Harvey listings in the Continentals - specifically, the 7th and the 11th.  Same name, same county - how did someone differentiate the men because the muster list you have indicated, had ONLY the Richard (brother of John) in that service.  DAR didn't even recognize it.

Helen Rice and I began a private email thread that went on for two years trying to exchange ideas and documents etc and I now believe she must have sent the Park Alliance documentation that "worked its magic."  I finally became so overwhelmed with Harvey research and Covid that I petered out and took a break....and haven't done anything for over a year.

I just did a search on the Park Alliance as you suggest (the muster) and there it is....changed to credit our Richard in the 11th.  Interestingly, the Richard in the 7th is no longer listedl...not even as Richard Harvie. (John Harvie IS listed)

Now of course, I will write Helen (if she hasn't already seen this) and see if she has any idea which document or evidence they accepted to make this change.  In 2021-2022, all that Continental service was credited to Richard Harvie , the brother of Virginian John Harvie. (not the Gov John Harvey)

My hat is off to Helen for all her work.  I will check now to see if this change by the "Park People" will get any kind of rise from the Society.  I think it is special and unique to have an ancestor at Valley Forge - very small window of history to witness first hand.  Robyn.
