Who served with Commodore Perry in the Battle of Lake Erie?

My great-grandfather was born in 1842 and named Commodore Perry Cox. We believe that may be because his father or grandfather served with Commodore Perry as a seaman during the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813. Does anyone know if it is possible to get military records that would confirm that?

Here's a list of the men that served under Commodore Perry on the U.S.S. Constitution at the Battle of Lake:

I didn't see a Cox but there were other ships.

Thanks for a quick and detailed (if somewhat disappointing) response!
