I'm just throwing this out there, as I am VERY new to this history thing.

This site is HUGE, volunteer run, and mostly *.txt files - - DAYS could be eaten with the carefully transcribed manifests. (link 1) THIS SITE IS HUGE.

IMMIGRANT SHIPS TRANSCRIBER'S GUILD

At the upper LH side of page (idk what it looks like onna "Toy TV") there's a box "Search ISTG" - - you can type a surname in for ex. It'll throw PAGES of results. I found some that may be relevant.

I've done my best to cross ref the vessels and dates and it seems legit (but I'm new at this)

If you're an old school hacker, just start here: (link 2)

Get Around Gulag's B.S. and FIND your DATA!

prepare for challenge, as I've heard You might have to tell M$ yes, searx is exactly where I'm going tyvm...

The current data (link 2) shows there's been changes in the "syntax" how you "scrape" Gulag (I'm having to relearn a whole lot, it's changed)

ddg.gg is trying to keep up, but still doesn't have the filters gulag appears to offer

Is it TOO big?  What percentage is useful? I still have a "she who must be obeyed."

it's quite large (20K+ manifests) but probably not complete.

IDK (yet) what percentage is useful - it's an "Old School" website - low bandwidth BIG info. Easiest way to see if it'll be any use is use the "Search" box in upper LH side...

I've yet to finish looking up the 7 "possible results", but was surprised to find 3 "Right Surname, right time frame" from germany to Canada...

Yes it could be a massive time killer, am looking at the resources they have for "dredging up" these lists...

 Good luck
