I am looking for the following Wills which may be available only in books for purchase which I do not have:

John Dowell, 7 Oct 1766, Proved 16 Dec. 1767, in Calvert or Patuxent Counties, Maryland. May be at Maryland Wills Book 36, 146.

Also Inventory in 1768 identifying Philip and Harrison Dowell as heirs. I am researching Harrison Dowell and his family.

Thanks much. Bob Pickering

I'm on the library version of Ancestry right now, so I can't share the image, but you can retrieve it here:  https://postimg.cc/N26KRzB1

The 'Inventories of Estates' records are not indexed by Ancestry.  I looked at a couple of the record book indexes and didn't see a Dowell listed.  Do you know the volume it is supposed to appear in?

Thanks so much! This is the only info I have on the inventory.

John Dowell 99.95 CA £252.15.11 Feb 2 1768 Dec 23 1768
Appraisers: William Dare, Michael Catterton.
Creditors: Rebeccah Arnold, John Hamilton Smith.
Next of kin: Philip Dowell, Harrison Dowell.
Executor: Henry Dowell

That reference didn't make much sense to me, but after not finding it by looking through dozens of pages, I found a Maryland state index for the record at https://msa.maryland.gov/megafile/msa/stagsere/se1/se4/000000/000004/html/04962.html.  So the 99.95 corresponds with Liber 99, folio 95 which then translates to Vol. 99, p. 95.

Once again, I very much appreciate your generosity in helping me with this. I am not well versed in Maryland. Thank you again Kerry. I hope to be able to return the favor in Virginia or Kentucky sometime. Bob
I'm glad I was able to help.
