It appears he was a confederate civil war veteran. He needs more sourcing showing parental lineage. See his FindAGrave.

Suggestion on Ancestry that father was George but went by Andrew and mother Phoebe Ann Miller, but no sources.

I have found a handful of documents naming Andrew and Phoebe Mitchell's children and non name Ira Bird Mitchell as their child.  He married in Hancock County, Mississippi, so looking there.

Andrew and Phoebe have a son born in October 1830 -1921, Andrew's DOB is June 1830.  They are not the correct parents in my opinion.
