Did something happen to 1860 US Census Records for Kenton County, Kentucky? I can’t seem to find anything specifically about them but I also cannot find them…can find 1850 and 1870. County was formed in 1840.

You can browse the records for the 1860 Census at Family Search. There seemed to be pages of records in the districts I looked at.

Here is a link for searching the index of the 1860 US Census

Digitized on Ancestry - found by going to the census page and then the browse drop-down. Says the images are from FamilySearch

"Ancestry.com. 1860 United States Federal Census [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2009. Images reproduced by FamilySearch.

Original data:1860 U.S. census, population schedule. NARA microfilm publication M653, 1,438 rolls. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d."

must be there someplace, but perhaps mis-indexed?  Happy to look up something for you on Ancestry.

It's there on FamilySearch, so must be an indexing issue, here's a link to someone from Kentucky on that census:

"United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MZBR-NKS : 18 February 2021), James Coleman in entry for Michael Foley, 1860.

Thanks, Kathie. Odd, can't find the family of Emma Reeves, so far, in 1860. Finally found her parents in first Iowa Census of 1856 and I wonder if they are still somewhere in Iowa in 1860. Possible that her father was not born Kenton County, Kentucky as is usually seen although later Census data shows a Kentucky birth (creation of Fenton County postdates her father's 1832 birth so some of the family info isn't quite accurate).
