This is my partner's line. I'm looking for any info I can find on James Robert Morse. I am looking for a source for his marriage to Francie Elaine Ray. I am also looking for military records for his service in the Vietnam war in the army branch.

Born: 6 Sep 1934

Death: 4 April 1998

Married Nam Boon Bag on 20 November 1981

Any info you can help me find would be much appreciated. I don't have access to ancestry. I used to have access to MyHeritage but I don't anymore.

It looks like he died in Daleville, Alabama.  Was he stationed at Fort Rucker?
His marriage to Nam Boon Bag in 1981 was in Ozark, Alabama, which is on the north side of Ft. Rucker.  Daleville is on the south side of Ft. Rucker.  Nam died in October 2011 in Daleville.  I wonder if the Soldier Service Center on post could help you find his service records.  If he went through Ft. Rucker he was either a helicopter pilot or had some tie to Army Aviation.  There's a fantastic museum at Ft. Rucker with a lot of information on the various units who have been deployed through Ft. Rucker.

An enlistment date in 1979 would have been too late to have served in the Vietnam War.  I wonder if he was prior service, got out, and then reenlisted.  You'd be surprised how often that happens.  We have a large Korean population around Ft. Rucker, so I would guess that his wife, likely his second wife, was Korean.  Many retired soldiers who went through Ft. Rucker come back and work as civilians on post.
