I used the gedcom ADD button and then those persons don't show in my tree.

I uploaded a gedcom. I went through and looked at every suggestion and acted accordingly. Then the list shows all the ADD buttons. I have added a good number of people. As I do, I see text which tells me the relative they should be connected to at the top of the page and again near the bottom. That all is working well. They are being connected to the right people and show up grayed out on the gedcom list after I add them. But when I go look at my tree, I see 3-5 people, when there should be 100. 1) Where do I see the complete tree? 2) While looking at that mythical tree, can I somehow utilize the ADD button on the gedcom page to fill in the people I can SEE are missing from the tree? All the source info is in the gedcom and I am not entering it by hand, so it's important to use the gedcom. I feel I am doing a lot of work, and doing it wrong. Also, I have been able to enter my own DNA testing data, (atDNA @ Ancestry, YDNA @ FTDNA) but have not been able to do this for other family members. Thanks, Mark

I think the problem is that you have 2 profiles for your father (North-4053 and North-4057) and also for your grandmother (McDonough-1228 and McDonough-1229). Most of the profiles you have created are attached to the second profiles for each of them, but you are attached to the first profiles.

If you merge the two profiles for your grandmother together and then merge the two profiles for your father together, then everybody should show in your tree.

Thanks for the pointers!

I think I did what you asked. I merged dup Jacks and dup Annas.

The tree looks the same.

It looks to me that following the merges your tree is now showing a lot more people? When I look at North-Family-Tree-4052, I see entries for your parents, 3 grandparents, 6 great grandparents and 9 great great grandparents. Is there a particular section you think should be showing but isn't?

Thank you for your help.

I found many many duplicates.

I responded too soon.

I am getting the hang of it.

Mark, about the DNA test information, WikiTree's privacy rules do not permit entry of DNA test information for any living person other than yourself.  You can invite others to join WikiTree, after which they can enter their DNA test information.  If they don't want to be active here, they can make you manager of their profile and never need to do anything here again.

Thank you!

Just so I understand. We are not uploading DNA data, just where we have been tested, and which of the 3 tests have been taken? And if we want to reveal a living person's testing location and kind, other than our own, we have to have permission?
Umm .... no, Mark, you don't need permission to reveal a living person's test information ... it's MORE than that.  You cannot reveal it - period, the end!  A living person is the only one who can post their DNA test information here.

If you are manager of profiles of deceased people who had DNA tests and you have their information available to you, then you can post that.

Having an ADD button appear in your Gedcompare is not the same thing as ADDing the profile.

Click on the ADD button to open an Add Person form that will be pre-populated with information from your Gedcom, to create a new WIkiTree profile.

For best results with Gedcompare, I suggest that you start with someone in your Gedcom who is matched to a profile already in WikiTree. Use COMPARE to see which members of their immediate family still need to be added to WikiTree, then use ADD buttons to add the parents, spouses, children and siblings. When you are done with that little family, click another COMPARE button to branch off into the next generation or next family, and repeat the process.
