Hi Jimmy,

I am a blood descendant of Sarah Tyner and John Harris (my DNA matches descendants of both sides). More recently I am likely a direct descendant of Willis Tyner (He was the slave owner of my family in Alabama per Census Records and Slave Schedules from 1860 in Uchee, Russell, Alabama) or another male relative in his household of age at the time named Jackson Tyner.

Sarah is my roughly my 9th great grandmother and John Harris my 9th great grandfather.

Hi Jimmy - are you asking for specific people to respond, or just in general?

Because Sarah Tyner is connected to the global tree at WikiTree, anyone who is connected to the global tree will be able to show a relationship to her. Some will be close, some far, and a few would be blood relatives.

My personal relationship with Sarah is that I'm 19 degrees (or relationship steps) away from her going through multiple families. That generally equates to a not very close relationship. Based on the current profiles and relationships entered into WikiTree today, I do not show any blood relationship with Sarah.

I would love to hear from anyone related to Sarah Tyner. I know she was the mistress of John Harris who was married to Mildred Harris. This may be confirmed by her father, Nicholas Tyner’s will by what he left her. I have found that she may have been Native American or one half Native. I have read that it was the custom of Native children to take their mother’s name, Sarah’ children took the Tyner name. This is confirmed in John Harris’s will which I have a copy of. If anyone has answers to any of this I would like to hear any input you have. Jimmy Lewis
Hi Jimmy it seems you are adding profiles for ‘your’ family when they are already on Wikitree, like Sarah and John Harris. Easily done when you are new, but I would suggest you go back and check them , and any others, and propose merges. You will probably find the connections you are looking for are already there.
Hi Marion, Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it. Since I am new to Wiki I know I have made mistakes that caused someone to take time to correct them, for this I am sorry. I have stopped adding anything until I completely understand how everything works.
Hello Jimmy,

I am also a 7th gen of Sarah Tyner & John Harris on my Mother's Father's side of the family. As well from Sarah the Mistress down I have 7 generations of Sarah Tyner's so it has been a fun confusing mess, then add in the Lewis first name and it gets crazy confusing.

I have managed to find a copy of John Haris' Last Will that I could actually read and he pretty much left everything to Sarah and her two sons. He did however leave the homestead and a little bit of land to Mildred, but at her passing it was to be returned to Sarah and her son's. I could not believe that when I read it, I had to read it two or three times just to make sure I actually read what I did.. my husband was like did you really just read what I think you did? And surely his wife knew about his mistress.. lol

Although, this is not the most strangest thing on my family tree, so it really was not a total surprise... Lol
