I can't seem to build profiles.

The profile you linked has a privacy lock, so you won't be able to edit it or connect relatives to it unless you get added to her Trusted List.  Click Mary's Privacy tab, then scroll down to where it says Join This List.  Click the link there to send a Trusted List Request to the Profile Manager.

Thanks for your reply. I was not trying to link to Davis'. I was trying to build a profile for my father's father. There are no ancestors for my father's side like they are on my mothers sidein my WiKi tree. Do I need to reload my tree?

Are you having trouble importing a GEDCOM file?  If so, someone else will have to help you.

If you just want to build a profile for your paternal grandfather, there's nothing to stop you.  On your father's profile, click the Edit tab.  On the right hand side, click [add father].  That opens a page to fill in your grandfather's info and start his biography.
