I have two comments concerning the current profile of John Weston of Reading (abt. 1631 - abt. 1723) as it's currently written.
1. The section, Disputed Parents, lacks adequate source citations to reproduce the research. Either sources should be supplied, the section should be re-written, or it should be deleted. Also, the comment about his age does not reference a source with a precise birth date and cites research by Stearns. The age of 13 does not appear to be firmly supported by Stearns. He wrote that John immigrated "about" 1644 and did not say what his age was. He also wrote that John died "at the advanced age of more than ninety-two years." The citation within Disputed Parents appears to imply more detail than is present in the cited source.
This section also alleges that the John who was son of John and Martha died in England in 1676, but the following published work casts doubt on that belief:
Fulham Old and New v. 2 pp. 252-253, https://books.google.com/books?id=Dv7lAAAAMAAJ&lpg=PA252&ots=h9UJ2XtvM7&dq=Alll%20Hallows%20Lombard%20Street%20John%20Weston&pg=PA252#v=onepage&q=Alll%20Hallows%20Lombard%20Street%20John%20Weston&f=false
No method proving a connection between the John Weston who was christened 17 Sept 1628 in Cholsey and the John Weston who died in England in 1676 has been supplied in the Disputed Parents section.
2. Y-DNA data shown at FamilyTreeDNA (see: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/weston_worldwide?iframe=yresults) appears to show John Weston of Reading with the same haplogroup (R-M198) as Robert Weston (b. about 1515). I reference kit numbers 82316 and 248000. This Robert Weston appears to be represented in the following WikiTree profile:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Weston-980
This information would appear to confirm the disputed parents, John Weston II (Weston-381) and Martha Piers (Piers-14) assuming John II was the grandson of Robert Weston (b. about 1515) as currently shown in WikiTree. Since the Disputed Parents section is lacking sufficient sources, we would appear to have no sources that contradict the inferred genetic relationship.
I encourage additional comment on this information and would request John's profile be updated to reflect the information shown in the Weston Y-DNA project website.
