Time for the big announcement! Our New Global Family Reunionand WikiTree website is up and online on FamilyTreeDNA.com! If you wish to join this FTDNA project, please login to your FamilyTreeDNA account page through this join link.
When you first open the website, you are on the ActivityFeed. This is a communication place to ask a question, post an answer or show off your pictures. To actually post anything on this page, please log in to your FTDNA account page. On your Welcome to myFTDNA account page, on the left side of the page, you will see links to all the projects you have joined. Please click the orange GFR & WikiTree link to open our website. Now, you can start adding your posts to the Activity Feed.
You do not have to log in to view the pages on the website. The public can view the pages, too. These include the DNA ResultsCharts and Maps, Links to other websites of interest, and the About pages.
I have been ferverishly working on the About/Results page. This page is a list of your Most Distant Paternal (yDNA) forefather and your MostDistant Maternal (mtDNA) foremother. Please look down this list at your FTDNA kit number. If there is a blue link to a WikiTree profile, please verify that I have selected the correct profile. Click the blue link to check.
If there is no blue link, I need more information to create the link to WikiTree for your FTDNA kit ancestors. Please login to your FTDNA myFTDNA account page, then click Personal Information, then the Genealogy tab, and then add your Most Distant yDNA Paternal and mtDNA Maternal Ancestors. This information on your Most Distant Ancestors feeds directly into the DNA Results Charts.
My own FamilyFinder/auDNA test is listed on the About/Results page as FTDNA Kit number: B022972 <Click this link to see what happens.
If you would like your FTDNA kit number (mine is B022972) to be an active link to your WikiTree profile (mine is Cooper-1) as mine is, please let me know so that I can set it up for you. I will need your FTDNA kit number and your WikiTree profile ID surname and number.
Thank you to Steve Bartlett, Veronica Williams, Peter Roberts and all the project members who assisted with locating the WikiTree IDs for our Most Distant Ancestors.
Until next time!
