Time for the big announcement! Our New Global Family Reunionand WikiTree website is up and online on FamilyTreeDNA.com! If you wish to join this FTDNA project, please login to your FamilyTreeDNA account page through this join link.

When you first open the website, you are on the ActivityFeed.  This is a communication place to ask a question, post an answer or show off your pictures.  To actually post anything on this page, please log in to your FTDNA account page. On your Welcome to myFTDNA account page, on the left side of the page, you will see links to all the projects you have joined.  Please click the orange GFR & WikiTree link to open our website. Now, you can start adding your posts to the Activity Feed.

You do not have to log in to view the pages on the website. The public can view the pages, too. These include the DNA ResultsCharts and Maps, Links to other websites of interest, and the About pages.

I have been ferverishly working on the About/Results page. This page is a list of your Most Distant Paternal (yDNA) forefather and your MostDistant Maternal (mtDNA) foremother. Please look down this list at your FTDNA kit number.  If there is a blue link to a WikiTree profile, please verify that I have selected the correct profile. Click the blue link to check.

If there is no blue link, I need more information to create the link to WikiTree for your FTDNA kit ancestors. Please login to your FTDNA myFTDNA account page, then click Personal Information, then the Genealogy tab, and then add your Most Distant yDNA Paternal and mtDNA Maternal Ancestors.  This information on your Most Distant Ancestors feeds directly into the DNA Results Charts.

My own FamilyFinder/auDNA test is listed on the About/Results page as FTDNA Kit number:  B022972 <Click this link to see what happens.

If you would like your FTDNA kit number (mine is B022972) to be an active link to your WikiTree profile (mine is Cooper-1) as mine is, please let me know so that I can set it up for you.  I will need your FTDNA kit number and your WikiTree profile ID surname and number.

Thank you to Steve Bartlett, Veronica Williams, Peter Roberts and all the project members who assisted with locating the WikiTree IDs for our Most Distant Ancestors.

Until next time!

Im looking at the mtdna results page and I can see no blue links.  My kit is 194406 and i know it was on the sheet.  Am i looking in the wrong place?

sorry i now see it is the about us page!

Stills-18

Kit B36475 (auDNA)

I have a profile for my Parents as well

Maynard Stills

Stills-13

Kit 393718 (Y-DNA pending)

Martha Culp (auDNA)

Culp-376

Kit B18540

My Most Distant Ancestors (in Bold)

Maynard's (Father)

Paternal - Ricker-186  184

Maternal - Lyles-189 (Mary Delilah Lyles)

Martha's (Mother)

Paternal - Kolb-678 (Baltzer Culp)  Watt-369 Unknown

Maternal - Paulen-46 Anna Maria Paul (Paulen)

I entered these on the About/Results list.  You need to have Mom login to her FTDNA B18540 account and join the GFR & WikiTree DNA Project.  That kit is not in the the project yet.

Probably easiest through this link: https://www.familytreedna.com/group-join-request.aspx?group=WikiTree&vGroup=WikiTree

Thanks,  Signed up Mom.

Ricker-186 is a female, so she can not have yDNA for your paternal line.  Should your earliest yDNA forefather be Ricker-182?

I believe your earliest mtDNA foremother should be Paulen-46.

I think I fixed it, but please check in a few minutes when I update the list: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/wiki-tree/about/results

Ricker-184.  I am not confident of Johann
Very nice, Kitty! The links are correct for my kits, and I just updated the most distant ancestors on the kits that didn't have enough info for you to find them (kits 321113 and 381997).
thanks, Lianne.  I am fixing them now.

This is all faboulous Kitty, i love the links.  One question, should there only be one oldest ancestor for females and two for males?  Ie mtdna for both and ydna just for men?  My mother in law seems to have two links, but me and my mother are only showing one.

Each kit number has a place for one yDNA male ancestor and one mt DNA ancestor.  We each have one genetic father and one mother, so your Most Distant paternal ancestor should be Walter Coat and your most distant mtDNA foremother should be Johannah Hanrahan

So each kit number should have up to two links.  If you give me the kit numbers, I will check them.

My Haplogroup is H1b1-T16362C and I have no matches on WikiTree yet (that I know of).  Or on our WikiTree & GFR Project on Family Tree DNA.  I patiently go back every week or so to see if anyone has shown up.  Come on, surely there is someone out there who won't mind be related to me?  Mags
