Hi K,

Can you possibly give a little more information?  Anything would help - locations, other family members, etc.  I imagine there were a few people named Thomas Hopkins born around that time.
Hi Ian,

My Thomas Hopkins 1616-1684 born to William Hopkins and Joane Arnold in Yeovilton, Somersetshire, England, dies in Oyster Bay, New York. His mother died 1622 and his uncle William Arnold took him with sister Frances Hopkins in. Unknown what happen to father William Hopkins except reported dies 1670 in England, no info on the daughter Elizabeth born 1619.

Uncle William Arnold brought the kids with his family to the colonies, unknown what ship. Reported Thomas was 19, ? 1625.

Thomas had three sons, (Major) William, Thomas III and Joseph. Maybe wife as a Elizabeth, just not clear on surname. Major William Hopkins is my ancestor.

The only Thomas Hopkins born circa 1616 that I can see currently see is https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hopkins-1350.   I can’t tell if this is the one you are looking for, as you haven’t supplied a location.

I wish you all the best with your research.

Thank you Wendy,

I have not confirmed a surname for Elizabeth because the Arnold family, Wilkinson's  and the Gosney Book family of the Providence time online point to William Arnold daughter Elizabeth married a Carpenter and Benedict Arnold didn't have daughters. My Thomas age 19 (born 1616) only came over with sister Frances as part of the  (uncle) William Arnold party.   I would love to find more family book who mention Thomas Hopkins around his arrival and being in Providence. Thanks Ian but this Elizabeth would mean my Thomas returned to England for a 1646 marriage. He had already arrived with Uncle Wm Arnold 1635, son Major William was born 1647  Rhode Island, as brother Joseph born 1646 in Rhode Island.

It's so confusing.
