Advice before editing this pre-1700 Goodwin profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of Nathaniel Goodwin. This is what I can add:

Birth date should be listed as 24 Feb 1672/3 but the format is not allowed.

  • Birth date is shown as Feb 24 1672, an apparent error. The previous entry in the record is Dec 3 1672, then Nathaniel Goodwin Feb 24 1672, the next entry is dated Mar 3 1673. However the next three entries vacillate between 1672 and 1673. The dates are Dec 15 1672, Mar 1 1673, and Nov 20 1672. The record is typed, apparently a copy of the original? Date sequence ambiguous. . Note: The Julian Calendar was replaced by the Gregorian Calendar in 1752, so that may be the source of confusion. Find-a-grave says he was 80 when he died in 1753 and says his birth was Feb 24 1673.

These are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

The WikiTree standard is to use the second date. The date should thus be entered 24 Feb 1673, and in the Biography note the 1672/3.
