Question

NGP has been working on the "Freedman's Narratives" which is part of the U.S. Black Heritage Project...  She single handedly took on the state of Ohio and created 30+ records, added ancestors and descendants as necessary; and did the best that she could do with limited resources to connect them to the global tree in a two week period during the month of March 2021...  OUTSTANDING Contribution!

Aww... thanks Gene and everybody. I learned some history, including a military action called Lightburn's Retreat in 1862 where a Civil War Union Colonel protected his supply train and helped hundreds of refugees from slavery cross into freedom.

Dear Emma,

   I've been working with the second volume of Narratives of folks living in Texas.  As I suspected, the families of descendants are beginning to interweave, since most stayed in the same towns.  This weekend I added over 40 related people from Tarrant County, Texas. Seven surnames and counting.  Just fascinating.  -NGP
