John was born in Dumfries Scotland approx 1788 to John Armstrong and Elizabeth Patterson. It appears he immigrated to Canada and the only record I have found was from 1842 arriving in Port St John New Brunswick, however I can't verify it was him. I did read in a family journal that he went to Newfoundland and was never heard from again.
I would really like to put some more information on where he ended up, died etc.
