number of generations over 25 limit on relationship finder

Odd question but when using relationship finder and the number of generations is over 25, I assume the generations are just added on. For example, if an ancester was a 23rd great grandfather and his ancester was 8th great grandfather, does that become my 31st great grandfather?

The relationship finder does not seem to work over 25 generations.. I find the gateway Ayala-45 20 generations back in direct line using it,and in turn find her remote ancestors such as Comnenos. However when test the more remote ancetors directly with myself no connection is found.

If Person A is your 23rd great grandfather, and Person B is the 8th great grandfather of Person A, then Person B is your 33rd great grandfather.

If you add the two "great" numbers together, you have to add 2 on top of that, because otherwise the two generations between Person A and his grandparent are not counted.
