Advice before editing this pre-1700 Barnes profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of John Barnes. This is what I can add:

  • various references

These are the sources I am using:

  • Miles Files http://espl-genealogy.org/MilesFiles/site/index.htm

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Carl, without knowing the specific information you would add from the specific sources (the MilesFiles goes to the home page) it's hard to tell if these are appropriate primary sources for the profile.
This is the link:

"Miles Files" is the "go to" place for VA eastern shore genealogy info. It is a work in progress, but is full of info and clues. It is maintained by the Eastern Shore Public Library and updates are supplied by genealogist M.K. Miles. The site also has many charts.

It's too bad the court records for the Williamsburg/Jamestown area were destroyed during the U.S. civil war as many early connections were lost, including my wife's, who is a direct descendent of John Barnes (1646-1715)
