My understanding of this is:
(1) There is an Esther Delano, almost certainly the daughter of Philip of Duxbury, who was the right age to have been Esther, wife of Samuel Sampson of Duxbury. Esther Delano had an only sister Mary, and Esther Sampson had a daughter named Mary.
(2) There is no other likely candidate for the wife of Samuel Sampson, and these early Duxbury families have been exhaustively researched, and the Mayflower Society has tentatively identified Esther Delano as Samuel's wife. Is that good enough for WikiTree? I think it almost is, and I wouldn't object if the consensus is to keep this link.
By the way, "Ichabod" was a name often given to a son born after his father died, which makes me wonder about the assigned age of Samuel Sampson's son Ichabod.
