Yes his grave is here in Africa,  I was hoping to find relatives in England. My grandmother was his daughter, she died last year aged 95 wanting to know her father's people, I am just honouring her wishes
Hi Hosa I think I'm part of the family you are looking for. My late Father was Desmond Francis born 18/06/24 in Redruth Cornwall. He had 3 Brothers William, Benjamin,Donald and one Sister called Verona. My Father Desmond died in Guernsey in the Channel Islands on 6/03/06. We know William John Francis my Grandfather went to Africa before Desmond was born and we no the ships name and date he left Southampton for Africa on. We have always wondered what happened to William and have spent many years looking for information. I only came across your post last night after typing in Williams first wife Grace Charleston my Grandmother. Hope to hear from you soon thanks Georgina Prior nee Francis

Hi Georgina

Wow! Thank you so much for your reply, I sort of "gave up" after many fruitless efforts and only logged in today to see if there are any replies. Yes, according to the info you gave me we must be talking about the same person.  Please email me at trulyxamises@gmail.com so we can share photos and chat further of you don't mind.
Hi Hosa

Thanks for your reply I am very happy to hear that my Grandfather and his family have been found. My Father Desmond Francis never had much information on his Father William when we used to ask about him and other than one photo which we are not even 100% sure if it was him. Myself and my Mum have always wondered about his life, did he marry again did he have anymore children when did he pass away etc. Also did he ever mention his family he left behind. Lots to think about maybe u can send me a photograph of him and his grave. I have your email that u sent. Through my Sister we have dates of when Williams children all passed away. My Dad Desmond Francis lived the longest. Please let me know what information etc u would like to know. Look forward to hearing from you soon

Thanks

Georgina (Gina)
Hi Georgina

This platform does not really give notifications and one tends to drift off. I went to my home town for the festive season and was digging through old stuff.. I  found and old pic of my great grandfather William J. Francis , but it's a bit damaged because of poor storage , I'm hoping it's a copy of the same pic you guys have. lol. please reach me on my email provided earlier or on whatsapp +264817783266 so I share the pictures of both the grave and him, will also share pics of my grandmother and rest of my family.

To answer your questions, as far is I know he didn't remarry here, but he had 7 other kids with 2 different women, my grandmother had her own mom and the rest shared a mom and I think only one of the children is alive. so there is whole Francis population here.

I hope to hear from you soon.
