Sorry but I have no details of his parents names - all I know is that he married my 8th cousin Beatrice Rand in 1939 in West Thurrock Essex.

These are my thoughts:

FreeBMD has a Thomas A. Kirby born 4th Qtr 1914 in Orsett - mother's name MOORE.

1st Qtr 1894, Alfred Kirby m. Elizabeth Esther Moore in Orsett.

In 1901 Census, Alfred is 36 yrs (Horseman) and Elizabeth 26 yrs in Orsett. They have 2 daughters: Susan Esther and Annie.  Also, Alfred's mother Susan, a widow 78 yrs.

In 1911 Census, Alfred now 46 is a Blacksmith Striker in a Cement Works in Orsett.  Elizabeth, 38, has had 4 children - all still alive. The last 2 are Millicent (8) and Alfred (6).
