Who were the parents of John (Champness?) Austin of Lunenburg?

I just completed a merge for this man, but he now has two competing sets of parents, one in England, one in Virginia. I can't find documentation that positively connects him to either set.  Did someone see "New Kent" Virginia and confuse that with "Kent" England?   Does anyone have better sources or more information?

Family #1:  The Austin Family Association of America web site contains the following statement:  "Thomas Austin of New Kent Co., Virginia Thomas Austin with an unnamed wife and two sons arrived in America by 1642 (this is confirmed by a land patent). Thomas was born in England about 1600, and died testate in New Kent Co., VA before 1668, bequeathing 300 acres to his sons Richard and John. Richard repatented the same 300 acre tract in 1668 being the sole survivor, his brother John having died without issue previously. Richard Austin's sons included Richard and John (this is the man in the profile), who left New Kent Co. and migrated to Southside Virginia in Amelia Co. by 1738, then on to Brunswick Co., VA by 1740." Tried looking for Thomas Austin b. England between 1590 and 1610 from fathers named Thomas, RIchard, or John with sons Richard and John.  Didn't find.
