My brother and his wife were married on this day … 30 years ago.

My maternal grandparents, Charles  Gray Jr. (1901-1996) and Jewell Ione (Baker) Gray (1909-1995), were married on this day … 92 years ago.

I have no known ancestors or relatives that died on New Year's Day.

I have an ex-niece who was the New Year baby for Nassau County, New York in 1964.  Her profile is here, but it's unlisted.  My closest friend was married January 1, but she doesn't have a profile here.

So far I have 17 births, 4 marriages and 12 deaths. This is from my family and my wife's family combined. A friend of mine was the New Year's baby for Swanson, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1961. He was born 1 April. The latest addition is a second cousin that died 1 Jan 2021.

My husband and I were married 40 years ago today.   We invited family, friends and the pastor to my home for a New Year's Eve party and were married at 15 minutes after midnight.
