Should a slave be listed as a wife of the father of her chilren?

In my line there was a man that had children with a slave and went to great lengths to marry her, so it can happen.

Unless they were married, they shouldn't be listed as husband and wife.  They will already be linked through their common child, but the "relationship" should be explained in the bio.

On a side note, I just wandered through the Wikipedia pages on this family.  What an interesting group of people with an amazing story. We need to have Wikitree pages that do them justice.  I'm glad you're digging into the details.

Thank you, I edited her profile.  She does not have a profile manager to discuss with, but it seems to be a consensus of opinion that she should be detached from her "spouse."

I doubt that they would have ever married and unless there is a record, he shouldn’t be listed as husband. Definitely put in bio with a link to him. My 2 cents worth.
