How can Jesse Harrington born in New Hampshire be the same Jesse Harrington born in Weston, Mass?

Jesse Harrington has been a puzzle... he is my paternal grandmother's 3rd great-grandfather. After all these years, its time to hunt down the elusive Jesse Harrington.

Researchers have indicated his wife was Abigail Richardson. So, attempting another angle to find the elusive Jesse, I dug into the Richardson genealogy to see what they have.

I have made notes this morning and I'm not convinced that this Jesse https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Harrington-2842 is the same.

The profile you tagged is for : (See Weston Town Records)

Jesse Harrington son of Moses and Mary, born May 8, 1756 at Weston, Mass.

Jesse Harrington, s. Moses and Mary, married Abigail Richardson of Princeton, Dec. 30, 1781.

He died in 1782.

Someone has added information for a different Jesse Harrington to the bio.

It appears from the Princeton Vital Records, that the only son of Jesse an Abigail was Jesse born at Amherst, NH on November 3, 1782 and recorded at Princeton, Mass.

Jesse died intestate and his widow Abigail requested that Isaac Jones be appointed estate administrator on March 25, 1783. Case 10418:p. 1-14: Middlesex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1648-1871

The note on his profile probably reflects the son Jesse.

It appears that Jabez, attached to Jesse Sr. is incorrect.

Thanks for your input, Chris...

My aunt has traced Jesse Harrington, father of Jacob W Harrington (died Columbia County, PA), through census records back to Stephentown, NY.  Both went to PA when Jacob was about 22; later David (Jacob's brother) had joined them there.

We haven't been able to find other indicators (census records or other sources) of Jesse having additional children besides Jacob and David.

As for the Amherst records, leaves me to agree with my aunt - there is more than one Jesse Harrington. The Jesse we've been searching for was born in Weston, Mass and died in Pine Twp., Luzerne County, PA.

The descendants here, links directly to my grandmother:

Harrington-8673 Should probably be removed as Jacob's father as that Jesse born in 1756 at Weston, married Abigail Richardson, died in 1782.

Maybe Jacob was his grandson, son of Jesse born in 1782?

History of Columbia County by Battle, pg 540: - 'Jacob W. Herrington (deceased) was born in Rensselaer County, NY., June 10, 1799; son of Jesse Herrington, a native of Massachusetts, and who came to Pine Creek, Huntington Twp., Luzerne Co., Penn in 1821.'

***

The above Jesse is my grandmother's 3rd great-grandfather. His son, Jacob W. Herrington m. Elizabeth Baker who's daughter, Hariett Elizabeth Herrington m. Joshua Brink Davis- son Earnest Guy Davis m. Pruella Florence Diltz - daughter Jennie Beatrice Davis m. William Henry Hamlin Bartholomew (my grandmother's parents)
