does anyone know which Chauvin descendant built the Chauvin house in Convent, LA circa 1830?

In looking online for information about the descendants of Pierre Chauvin dit Le Grand Pierre, I found the following: http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM4TKX_Chauvin_House_Convent_LA

It was mentioned in a GenForum post by a descendant of Malvina Chauvin, but I can't find anything that says who might have been the original occupant.

The location is actually Convent LA, not Conventry as stated in Genforum. I doubt that the Chauvins actually lived in that particlar house, even though they may have built it. And considering the construction I doubt that it was moved there. Louis Chauvin and family are buried up river at St. Michael's in St. James Parish, their records should be extant.  The national register information is evasive.Seems to have been on White Hall plantation property. I'll do some digging for you.

The Chauvins did live and still are living in the Chauvin House in Convent, LA.  Convent, LA was previously named Union, LA then later changed to Convent, LA.  I know this because I am a Chauvin and was born and raised just a couple of houses next to it.  It has been remodeled, not changing the placement of the rooms, only adding a bedroom in the attic.  A young Chauvin couple, with their children, lives there.  Only the direct descendants of the original Chauvin family have lived in the house.
