I’ll bet many on wikitree have a relation to a Babcock ancestor just waiting to be discovered! smiley

From the window I could see the rockets' red glare and hear the bombs bursting in air, and I was thinking about the Battle of Rhode Island where Primus Babcock  and Caesar Babcock would have heard the cannon bursts and tried their best to hold off the Hessians that Britain had hired to help take the key Rhode Island ports.

I decided right then I should review all my Revolutionary War fighter profiles and add the 1776 sticker to those who participated now that I have grasped the "rocket science" sticker coding, which I have to admit baffled me for the longest time.

Of course, our Family Name Study had Babcock/Badcock fighting on both sides and there's a sticker for each. If anyone wants to join me in adding the stickers to participants who lack them here are the codes:

{{1776 |startdate= |enddate= |unit= |rank= }}    means

fought for the US Colonies (you can leave blank the stuff after the "equals sign" if you don't know. Someone else can figure it out)

In Contrast....

{{United Empire Loyalist|status=}}    means

fought for the Crown ("status" signifies either proven as UEL or unproven, just leave it blank if you don't know).

Turns out adding stickers is a lot of fun. smiley

I love stickers laugh

Yep. You are never too old for stickers....

But seriously, I forgot to include the code for profiles that were born as Babcocks! This small family crest goes really well with the War Service stickers.

{{One Name Study|name=Babcock|category=Babcock Name Study}}

LoL

Look at all them stickers!

I can hear the fireworks from where I live, but I can't see them.

This is the first year I can remember that fireworks could not be seen or heard from my home. Thanks to YouTube we viewed the fireworks display from Mt. Rushmore. Hopefully we can find another awesome display that can be heard as well as seen.

On the 4th of July I've always 1) read the Declaration of Independence 2) Put up the flag that was on my dad's coffin and 3) Watched the movie 1776.  As a fireworks fanatic, I was surprised how happy it made me to not have fireworks anywhere this year.  I can still do items 1, 2, and 3 on my list, and those are the important parts of the holiday to me.

My parents got married on the 4th of July. When I was very young I thought everyone was celebrating their anniversary.

That’s so awesome lol laugh
