I've just done some revamping of William Parker's profile, and think that the source for his wife and parents is a shaky. What's your opinion? Should they be Unknown?
Torrey lists two possible wives Margery [Pritchard] / Allen?, which makes neither of them very positive.
Pritchard is listed in the The Fulton-Hayden-Warner Ancestry which lists no sources.
Allen is listed as a footnote in the Maltby-Maltbie family history. It lists a source.
From Town and miscellaneous records of Saybrook, Connecticut. "William Parker married Margery Allen daughter of William Allen of London England, afterward married Elizabeth Pratt widow of Lieut. Wm. Pratt & Daughter of John Clarke 1st. He was a doctor. He died Dec. 21, 1686. He was the son of John Parker of Dantry of Northamptonshire Eng. His mother was dau. od [sic] Wm. Cross."
What is this doing in the abstracted town records? It wouldn't be there naturally. Was it just thrown in willy nilly by a copyist who had this information? Do we pay any attention to it at all?
Jacobus' two sketches on the family list Margery ___ and mention no parents. I don't see any records listing him as Dr.
Should he get a new wife Margery ____? Should his parents be removed?
