Looking for any info on John Calvin Gannon, DOB circa 1840, likely of Tennessee

This is my direct ancestor, but unfortunately, we know virtually nothing about him.  He either died or disappeared rather early in his son's life.

John Calvin Gannon married Ida Ella Telman Taylor. They had a daughter, Jewel Lena Gannon born 13 Feb 1906 at Nashville, Davidson, TN.
