Shared Photo: Alice Hannah and Samuel Richards

Question

This is a hand coloured photo of my Great Grandfather Samuel Richards born October 1866 and his older sister Alice Hannah, born October 1864 (she was always called Hannah) our family history group believe this was taken in October of 1869 or 70, as a birthday photo. 

Samuel is still wearing a 'dress', so he had not been breeched which usually occurred when a boy was old enough to cope with the complicated buttons or what ever was used to open and close the trousers of that time period.
