How do I leave my non-biological father on tree so he shows connection to my siblings?

I found out a month ago my "father" was not my biological father. He passed when I was 8 and my mother said nothing my entire life. My parents were older, 43 and 57 when I was born. My father died the day before my 9th birthday.

I have living relative (an aunt) whom I asked about the possibility. She creid and told me the story. This was discovered when my 27 year old son tested his DNA at 23andme and it showed my "brother" was a half-relative due to the cM's shared. I then took the test... my "brother" became my uncle.

I am trying to find the connection to the biological father but I still need to match with more.

I want my "father" to be represented on the family tree since he is the biological father to my 4 siblings.

How can I accurately represent these relationships and still leave my options to match with those that carry his DNA?

Thank you!

Until you find your biological father, you can maintain the connection and use the 'nonbiological' status.  When you find your bio father, you can simply 'replace' your father connection.  Your non-bio father will stay just where he is, connected to the rest of the family.

Unfortunately, WikiTree only allows you one of each parent, so you may have to choose someday.  The details and complications have to be described in the biographies.

Thank you so much for asking this question.  This it's exactly what I needed to know today.  I also found out that my dad is not my biological father in 2018.  The siblings I grew up with are half siblings.  I just realized today that I never "fixed" that on my tree here.  I have found my biological father (he passed away in 2006).  But I will add the Non-Biological status now, if I can find it, LOL.
