Can my wife register as a guest with our same e-mail address to start a friend's tree?

She cannot use the same email address as you, NO. sorry.

All accounts on Wikitree must have seperate and different email addresses.

And to start a tree for someone else she will probably have to become a volunteer and a full member of wikitree. Also there will be some things she cannot do such as enter DNA details if the friend chooses to do a DNA test.
