My 8th great Grandfathers had a brother named (at baptism) Egbert Pracken [Roelefs]. I find records of a person named Egbert Roelefs married to a Aeltjen Helprichs, they had 5 children. All of their names match up to naming conventions of the area, all but one are born in the same hamlet as their father (leggel[oo]), and all are baptized in the same Church (Diever) as Father.

This leads me to conclude it is “my” Egbert, but just would like your thoughts.

TIA

Sytze

If you try hard to disprove your conjecture, and can find no contrary evidence, then yes, claim your uncle and cousins as uncertain. I think this is appropriate use of that tag, and I have done so in the past.

Hi Sytze! I think that this is a perfect case for using the biography function of WikiTree to your advantage. Try to make clear what proof you have and how it leads to your conclusion that this Egberts is your ancestors' father. Explain what the naming conventions are, and how they match this person perfectly. :-)
