As the profile manager for James Whaley, why can't I correct his death date?

I have a copy of the will of James Whaley who died in 1785 in Loudoun Co, VA. Someone else has inserted the death date for the other James Whaley who also died in Loudoun Co in 1784. I attempted to correct it, but for some reason I can't. Why can't I correct an error on a profile I manage?

What date are you trying to change it to? If February it’s 28 max. Otherwise are you using the correct format, I find it best to use for example 20 February 1855. If you try 2/20/1855 it possibly won’t work

Sorry, I have no idea.  The profile is open, it's not PPP, it's not pre-1700...

Do you get a specific error message when you try to save the 1785 date? or are you trying to put in a date which doesn't actually exist, like 31 November, or 29 February in a non-leap year.

Today I was able to change it. No idea why I couldn't accomplish it yesterday. Thanks!
