I am adopted and actually adopted people are the one exception to the rule Michel if you read all the rules, see #4. As per the links provided by others,... you make a profile you use all the time for yourself either your birth name (which I use as it saves some confusion) or adopted name. And then you make a profile for your adopted or birth self explaining to see your other self. And your adopted self link on your birth self and vice versa. Be sure to set yourself as a rejected match as Wiki suggests to prevent folks merging you in the future as one person. I find the adopted template sticker the easiest way to toggle between my trees that show my biological parents and my birth parents in the sticker. I am the only person that has a bunch of my adopted family pictures and am old enough to know about the history. Most my other family doesn't have any interest in the ancestors and I had no children, so it was just as important to me to preserve my adopted tree as my birth tree, in some ways more so. And the only way to accomplish that is to make two separate trees. Feel free to look at my profile to see how it works! It works very well !
