Daisy Mae "Bessie" Bunch Newkirk was murdered by her second husband, Walter M. Newkirk, on 27 Nov 1917, in Baltimore, Maryland. Wanting to know if any news articles in the days following her death, mention how many children might survive her.

Olean Evening Herald, Olean, New York, 4 December 1917, only mentions the fact she was shot in hand whilst apparently defending herself. Children are not mentioned.

I found several articles about the murder. They had only been married 6 months when he killed her. He was having relations with a much younger woman.

While this article doesn't mention how many children survive her, it does mention that she had several children by her first husband.
